Dunnes Store urgently recalls popular kids' item over strangulation fears

Dunnes Stores is recalling a popular children's item sold in its outlets across Ireland.

The retail giant is asking parents and guardians to discontinue using the Children’s Sleep and Grow Bag. The product has a risk of possible strangulation, discomfort, rash, and irritation as its neck opening is generally smaller than recommended specifications.

A total of 6,387 of the sleep and grow bags were sold in Ireland between March 3 and April 17 this year. The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission said: “Dunnes Stores Unlimited Company is carrying out a recall of Children’s Sleep and Grow Bag, the Irish Mirror reports.

“The risk associated with the product is that of possible strangulation, discomfort, rash and irritation as the neck opening of the product is generally smaller than the recommended specification.

“The brand is Dunnes Stores. The type/number of the model is style numbers 6454933, 6454934, 6454935. The batch number is unknown. The bar codes for the relevant products are below:

“Style 6454934 – 5099014380517, 5099014380524, 5099014380531

“Style 6454935 – 5099014466327, 5099014466334, 509901446634

Children’s Sleep and Grow Bag (Dunnes Stores)

“The sales period for the products within the Republic of Ireland was from 03 March 2023 to 17 April 2023. There are approximately 6,387 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.”

Customers who have bought one of these products should stop using it immediately and keep it out of the reach of children. It can be returned to any Dunnes Stores outlet for a full refund. Anyone with further queries in relation to this recall can email customerservice@dunnesstores.com
