Dungannon goalkeeper Declan Dunne names one striker 'you can't switch off with'

Dungannon Swifts goalkeeper Declan Dunne admits there are plenty of attacking threats in the Irish League that he needs to be wary of - but there is one who stands out from the rest.

Every week Dunne comes up against some prolific talent, players who can turn a half-chance into a goal in the blink of an eye.

But the Swifts keeper says Cliftonville talisman Joe Gormley is a striker who is a constant threat from minute one to 90.

And he says the Solitude legend can turn a quiet performance into a match-winning one at any stage of the game.

"The only one I look to, from my view of view, is Joe Gormley. He can be quiet enough the whole game, and then he pops up and scores," Dunne told Belfast Live's That's What I Call Football podcast.

"He did that to us in the Irish Cup game, scoring in injury time.

"There are quality strikers throughout the league now, everywhere you go. But Joe is just one of those ones where you think, 'give me a break, would you?'.

"I was really close with Joe when I was at Cliftonville, and he has been one of the best strikers that's been in the league, and his goalscoring record says it all."

When asked about the best team he has faced this season, Dunne says two sides stand out.

"I would probably say Crusaders at Seaview. That was really tough," he said.

"One of the other ones was Coleraine. We have gone up there twice and they came to us. They just have runners everywhere.

"Jamie Glackin, Conor McKendry, Jack O'Mahony, Matthew Shevlin up top. They have runners everywhere.

"They have slipped off the lead a bit in the league and I thought they would be up there challenging. But they are a good team."
