With energy bills surging and temperatures falling, millions of households are looking for cost-effective ways to stay warm this winter. Fortunately, Dunelm shoppers have found one solution in the form of a portable heater, which is said to cost around 22p an hour to run.
The small amount makes the compact radiator far cheaper to use than central heating - which many shoppers say they've not turned on since getting one themselves. The 650W 5 Fin Oil Filled Radiator, available for just £28, is ideal for warming smaller rooms or keeping you toasty while at home, as reported by the MEN.
An oil-filled radiator "is usually seen as the most reliable type of portable heating source", according to Dunelm. The home furnishing retailer said the running cost estimate of 22p per hour is based on the UK's October energy price guarantee rate of 34p per kWh.

The oil filled radiator's features include a thermostatic control and overheat protection. Its portable and compact build also means you can easily move it to different rooms as required.
Shoppers have been raving about the heater online, with more than 130 reviewers on the Dunelm website rating it five stars. One such reviewer, Angela, wrote: "Ideal for working for home days to keep the home office warm rather than put the heating on. Cheap to run."
Hollyshouse posted: "Excellent value and works really well to keep the chill off in a small room. And economical." S tomlinson added: “Lovely little radiator. Makes any room nice and cosy. Will help so much with the rise in energy prices.”
Anita commented: "Small heater, but impressive heat output. I was so pleased with the first one I bought a second one. We are watching our heating costs and don't mind it a bit cooler so this seems ideal and really good value."
A review by Jeannie read: "Very cute oil fired radiator, which is easy to pick up and take to any room, when it has cooled down. Puts out a good amount of heat." GJ Thorpe wrote: "This heater is small and compact but don’t tell this heater that coz he thinks he’s a big boiler and throws heat out accordingly."
Jenny posted: "Perfect for small room. Quiet and portable safe to leave on overnight in a chilly bedroom, even on half setting does the job once the room is warmed up. Brilliant little heater and I've ordered a second one,"
