They said on Facebook: "There is no need to introduce Ryan, everyone in the local game knows him very well. He has vast experience of the local game, played at very high levels and is a winner. Importantly, he is a Dundonald man through and through.

"He has recently been involved with the Club as Assistant Club Manager. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Chris Nicholl for all he has done for the club and the effort he put in as Manager and also as a Coach before that.

"We wish him all the best on what he does next and hope to see him up watching the games. We now aim to continue the good progress made on and off the pitch this season.

"Onwards and upwards."

Dundonald currently sit eighth in Division 1C of the Northern Amateur Football League.

After 16 games they lie on 23 points, 20 behind leaders Greenisland albeit with two games in hand.

The club is in the semi-finals of the Templeton Cup where they will take on Tullycarnet on March 22.

Meanwhile, Ford FC are on the hunt for a new manager after Stevie Smith stepped down.

Work commitments have forced Smith to vacate the position.

Senior players Aaron Thompson and Tony O'Neill will look after first-team affairs until the end of the season, supported by club development officer Gary Kelly.

Ford said: "The role will be advertised at the end of this season with a view to having an announcement on long-term succession plan as soon as possible."
