DUNDEE UNITED will appeal the red card brandished to Tony Watt in their weekend loss to Motherwell.
The striker was given his marching orders in the first-half of the 1-0 defeat at Tannadice.
The ex-Well striker appeared to catch Sean Goss high on the leg, with his studs showing.
On-field referee John Beaton didn't blow for a foul, let alone a red card.
However, VAR for the game David Munro called the official over to the pitch-side screen to review the incident. He then flashed Watt a straight red.
Many have challenged the decision, questioning whether it was worthy of a sending off.
It appears, according to the Daily Record, that the decision will now be appealed.
United boss Fox said: “From the footage the referee has seen I would probably agree it looks like a red card. But I have also seen other footage that casts a fair amount of doubt on it.
“It was a different angle and I see Tony Watt is pulling his leg back and there is very, very little contact with the player. Having seen the footage that the referee and the VAR has seen I could probably say, yes, it is a red card. But I have also seen other footage from different sources that maybe cast a wee bit of doubt over it so it is a bit of a contentious issue."
