Luke McCowan put Ayr to the sword - then admitted all he wanted was one of Lynne Watson's lasagne baguettes.
The Dundee winger was a class apart on Friday night as his two second half strikes put the Dark Blues top of the Championship.
But the former United star confessed he couldn't bring himself to celebrate on his Somerset return.
McCowan said: "I couldn’t celebrate, I just couldn’t.
“There are just too many good people at Ayr United who have helped me and shown me how to do some of that stuff I did out there.
“I was at Ayr for seven years and no matter when I come back, whether it’s ten years from now, I just couldn’t celebrate against them as there are too many good people at the club.
“It’s people like Lynne the club chef - you don’t want to celebrate against them as they are basically like family to you and they have been for so long.
"All I want to do now is go and see her for a cheeky wee lasagne baguette, although I'm not sure she'll give me one after that!"
McCowan's double salvo sent Dundee top after they had to play much of the contest at Somerset with 10 men.
Josh Mulligan was sent packing for an elbow on 18 minutes before Ayr's David Bangala was also red carded midway through the second half.
McCowan then pounced with a solo goal and a brilliant free kick to win it.
He added: “The last time I was at Somerset I came off greeting because it was my first time back and I came off injured, I was gutted. I was then out for a month after that.
“Funnily enough I said to a few people that I’ve known for years at Ayr...listen I’ll come back and I’ll hopefully not come off limping the next time.
“I know having been at Ayr for so long, when teams win at Somerset Park they know it’s massive no matter what time of the season it is."
