Dundee request urgent SPFL intervention over Queen's Park ticket scenario

Dundee have requested the SPFL intervene in an ongoing saga over tickets for the potential title decider against Queen's Park.

Dens Park chiefs have contacted the governing body after receiving a "very disappointing" ticket allocation for the match at Ochilview.

The clubs will go head-to-head on the final day of the Championship season with just one point between them and two matches left.

Depending on results, Queen's Park could take on Dundee in a winner takes all clash on May 5 with a 7.45pm kick-off time.

However, Dundee have been left furious at the away allocation for the match citing "the significant unused capacity at Ochilview" in an update to supporters on the sitation.

Dundee also state the club have tried to negotiate an increased allocation for away supporters but the request has been denied by Queen's Park - who are playing at Ochilview while work continues on Lesser Hampden.

A club statement read: "Following a late and very disappointing ticket allocation notified by Queens Park yesterday, the club has tried to negotiate an increased allocation in view of the substantial demand for tickets from Dundee supporters.

"Unfortunately, Queens Park have refused our request despite the significant unused capacity at Ochilview.

"Accordingly, Dundee FC has formally asked the SPFL Board to urgently intervene as provided for in the Rules and the matter will be considered when the Board meets this afternoon.

"The club will update supporters with the outcome as soon as possible."

An earlier Dundee update on the ticketing situation read: "The club have today received notification from Queen’s Park that we have been allocated a very limited number of tickets for the match on the 5th of May.

"Discussions are now taking place regarding the sale process for these tickets and we will provide a further update in due course."

The Glasgow club - managed by Owen Coyle - have confirmed there will be no public sale of tickets for the match with season ticket holders and members having the option to buy one additional ticket for Queen's Park supporters.

A Queen's Park statement on tickets for the potential title decider read: "Our final cinch Championship Match of the Season will see Dundee visit Ochilview on Friday, May 5 and Queen’s Park Football Club would advise that there will be NO public sale of tickets for the game.

"Queen’s Park fans will be situated in the Main Stand and entry is of course valid for all Members and Season Ticket Holders. Whilst there is no public sale the club is pleased to advise that all Members and Season Ticket Holders have the option of purchasing one further ticket for a Queen’s Park supporting family member or friend subject to availability.

"These tickets are priced at £20 for adults, £13 for concessions (over 65 years old) and £8 for Young Spiders aged 15 years and under.

"These tickets are only available until 3.00pm this Friday, April 28 can be arranged by emailing tickets@queensparkfc.co.uk or call 0141 632 1275.

"The club will once again provide free transport for Members and Season Ticket Holders attending the fixture.

"All away fan tickets are being dealt directly by Dundee FC."
