Bosses at Dundee Rep have revealed their pride in the selection of the new Doctor Who.
Ncuti Gatwa was announced as the latest Timelord last week.
The Sex Education star is set to take on the role previously filled by Matt Smith, David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker.
By coincidence, Tennant is also a Dundee Rep old boy.
Writing on Twitter a spokesman for the theatre company said: “We are SO PROUD of Ncuti Gatwa, a former Rep graduate actor, who has just been announced as the next Doctor!”
The actor first came to Scotland with his family in 1994 after escaping the Rwanda genocide.
He lived in Fife and attended Dunfermline High School before shifting his attention to a future acting career and teaming up with the Dundee Rep.
While with the company he earned praise for his performances in plays such as Hecuba and Victoria.
As a young actor he landed a role in the 2014 sitcom Bob Servant alongside local acting legend and Succession star, Brian Cox.
Ncuti would later go on to star in a TV adaptation of the Ian Banks novel Stonemouth, before being picked for a leading role in Netflix’s Sex Education.
Gatwa has scooped multiple awards for his portrayal of the show’s loveable Eric Effoing.
