Dundee foodies thrilled as top gastro pub launches new brunch menu

One of Dundee’s most popular gastro pubs has launched a mouth-watering new brunch menu.

The Barrelman is going from strength to strength after first opening its doors during the pandemic.

The laid-back Commercial Street eatery has quickly established itself as a must-visit place for locals and tourists alike.

Run by Tommy and Jacqueline Fox, the Grade A listed building is a stunning venue in which punters can unwind and catch up.

Well known for their innovative ideas, the couple have now added a fantastic new brunch menu to their armoury just in time for summer.

It uses locally-sourced produce from Angus farms and the city’s butchers and fishmongers.

Served from 10am - 3pm each day, it’s stacked full of imaginative ideas.

Its selection of eggs on sourdough toast is a top place to start with Benedict, Royale, Hebridean and Smashed Avo all making the list with prices starting at £7.50.

The Fiorentino is proving to be very popular with garlic mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, spinach and beetroot hollandaise exploding off the plate.

The more substantial Barrelman Brunch selections are for those wanting more of a filling start to the day.

These range range from a Granola Sundae through French Toast and Waffles to Black Bean Chilli Tacos.

Again, one of the favourites here are the smoked salmon, chicken, roasted cauliflower or pulled brisket Poke Bowls.

These also include seasoned rice, avocado, pickled slaw and Sriracha mayo.

The Barrelman is spread over three floors and caters for over 120 people.

As well as the bar, dining area and booths it also has a superb outdoor area - a perfect place to enjoy a brunch on a sunny weekend morning.

With many different spaces within the venue, Jacqueline and Tommy can also accommodate private hire for networking meetings, private parties and launch events.

- More information can be found on The Barrelman’s web page here or its Facebook page here.
