Dundee City Council elections 2022: What matters to you as voters head to the polls

Voters across Dundee and Broughty Ferry will be able to have their say on who runs their council in just over a week's time.

The local elections take place on Thursday May 5.

Election for the Dundee City Council is being held using the STV - single transferable vote - system.

This means that instead of placing a cross on the ballot paper you rank candidates in order of your preference.

Place a '1' against your first choice and a '2' against your second choice - you can make as many or as few choices as you wish.

There are 8 multi-member wards, 5 wards will have 4 members and 3 wards will have 3 members.

4 Member Wards -

Ward 1 - Strathmartine
Ward 2 - Lochee
Ward 3 - West End
Ward 4 - Coldside
Ward 8 - The Ferry

3 Member Wards -

Ward 5 - Maryfield
Ward 6 - North East
Ward 7 - East End

- Polling takes place between 7 am and 10 pm on 5th May, 2022. Votes will be counted on Friday, 6th May and results are expected by 2 pm.
