Dundee boss Tony Docherty bills Celtic penalty 'really soft'

Dundee boss Tony Docherty wasn't happy with the penalty Celtic were awarded in their 6-0 victory over the Dens Park side last night.

Auston Trusty was adjudged to have had his shirt pulled in the box amid a corner.

Although referee Colin Steven initially didn't point to the spot, after review, a penalty was duly awarded.

Arne Engels stepped up and put his miss against Young Boys behind him to rattle into the bottom-left corner and give his side an early advantage.

Post-match, however, Docherty wasn't pleased with Steven's decision: "The penalty, there's not one Celtic player claims for it," he told BBC Scotland.

"The two players are wrestling with each other - I think it's really soft."

After Engels converted to give Celtic the lead, Adam Idah, Daizen Maeda, and Nicolas Kuhn also scored as Brendan Rodgers' men romped to an emphatic victory.

The win sent them 13 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, and they are now just eight league wins away from securing their fourth title in a row.

Next up on the agenda, however, is Raith Rovers, as Celtic aim to make it to the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.
