Dundee manager Tony Docherty has no doubts about Lyall Cameron’s focus and commitment ahead of their Scottish Premiership clash with Rangers - despite the midfielder’s impending move to Ibrox at the end of the season.
The 22-year-old Dundee academy graduate agreed a pre-contract with the Glasgow giants in early February, but that has not stopped him from remaining a key part of the Dark Blues’ squad.
As they prepare to host Barry Ferguson’s side at Dens Park on Saturday, Docherty is adamant Cameron will be fully committed to the cause.
“It’s not difficult at all,” Docherty told Sky Sports when asked about selecting Cameron against his future employers.
“My relationship with Lyall is top drawer. He’s a brilliant boy and he’ll give everything for this football club, as you saw from his performance in the derby.
“He was gutted that his goal got ruled out against Dundee United. I think every Dundee supporter saw his level of commitment.”

Cameron missed Dundee’s Scottish Cup exit at Hearts earlier this month due to an Achilles issue but returned to star in the 4-2 victory over their city rivals prior to the March international break.
Docherty confirmed that the midfielder has been managing the knock but expects him to be ready for the upcoming showdown with Rangers.
“He’s carrying a wee knock on his Achilles at the moment and we’re managing that, but he’s training with the squad now and at the moment he’s more than available and right up for Saturday’s game,” Docherty added.
“I think everybody will see a real committed Lyall Cameron that’s giving everything for Dundee.”
