Dundee actor making TV debut in Outlander can't wait for season six to start

Dundee actor Mark Rannoch enjoyed the premiere of season six of Outlander in Glasgow this week.

The star is making his TV debut in the worldwide smash-hit show.

He joined Outlander fans who were getting an exclusive preview of the first episode of the latest season of the STARZPLAY series at the Glasgow Film Festival.

The 18th annual festival is currently taking place at GFT and Cineworld in Renfrew Street, as well as at partner cinemas across the UK and online.

Alongside the Outlander exclusive, this year’s event boasts 10 World premieres, 4 European premieres, 65 UK premieres and 13 Scottish premieres.

Dundee born and raised actor Mark was recently praised for his portrayal of Ernie Ellis at Hearts football ground, Tynecastle, in A War of Two Halves.

The WW1 based play took the EdFringe by storm before the pandemic winning four and five star reviews.

Tweeting from the Outlander premiere this week, Mark wrote “The Scottish premiere of Ep 1 #Outlander was fantastic… I’m sure you’ll all love it!! #actor #season6 #Glasgow.”

Last month alongside a screen grab from the show, he tweeted: “Well this is just all very exciting isn’t it. Boys first TV debut.”

And he added: “Thanks y’all, hope I do the show justice!! It was the most amazing of times!! Thanks for your support.”

Outlander has now officially stopped being free to view to subscribers on Amazon’s streaming service in the UK.

Fans will have to sign up to a subscription service Starzplay to watch their favourite show.

Those wanting to catch up with the first five seasons before the new one airs will also have to stream them using pay for streaming site Starzplay.

The move was first announced back in September last year.
