Duncan James has revealed a “crazy” fan falsely claimed she had his baby to get his attention.

The Blue star, who has 17-year-old daughter Tianie-Finn from a previous relationship, spent years hiding the fact that he was secretly gay before bravely coming out in 2012.

James, 44, recalled the “craziest” encounter he has ever had with a fan as he prepares to reunite with Blue for new music and a tour to mark the chart-topping boyband’s 20th anniversary.

Speaking to The Standard, he said: “I had a German fan that actually claimed she had my baby and that she had a son by me which was absolute b******s because I hadn’t slept with any German fan and I was secretly gay back then so there was no chance that would have happened.

“She was crazy, basically ended up contacting Tianie’s mother and saying ‘Oh Tianie needs to meet her brother’. And I was like ‘What!? What are you talking about?’ This crazy woman!

“Obviously I had to get an injunction against her because she was harassing and then all of a sudden it came out ‘Oh, sorry, I never had your child, it wasn’t you, I just wanted to get your attention’. I was like, people are just crazy!

“That was a pretty intense fan back in the day that I had to get a lawyer on because it was just bonkers.”

The One Love hitmaker said, aside from that, most fans “have been pretty decent to be fair over the years”.

James and his bandmates Lee Ryan, Antony Costa and Simon Webbe can’t wait for their loyal fanbase to hear what they have been secretly working on over the last two years in lockdown.

They are also excited about hitting the road later this year, including a date at the London O2 Arena on December 13.

Costa, who penned their new earworm of a track, enthused: “When we come together as Blue there’s something magical that happens that we can’t put our finger on.

“We’re really proud of this album and we’ve got the tour coming at the end of the year so it’s going to be fun. We’re just so excited to be getting a second bite of this cherry.”
