Dragon's Den star Duncan Bannatyne suggested to a health club member he might have his own wrench to fix a faulty shower after his own repair staff were unavailable.
Duncan was replying to the health club member from Carlilse on Twitter when he complained of staff shortages due to track and trace.
The club member had asked Duncan: "When are you gonna stop hiding behind 'Covid' and Get people back on the phones, to provide customer Service to your Members?"
Multimillionaire Duncan, who normally tries to deal with health club problems himself if customers are dissatisfied at branch level, replied: "Whenever track and trace stop sending them home."
"But you have access to the best customer service in the world. Me!"

The club member then wrote a follow up to Duncan telling him that his club only had use of one shower because repairs had not been carried out.
He told Duncan: "Good lad, Sort this then pls. We have only one poolside shower at Carlisle for weeks, for 2 saunas 2 Steam rooms 2 Jacuzzi's and the pool.
"Because according to the manger we have no 'maintenance man'

"You just need someone with a brain and wrench!"
Duncan then replied: "Well you probably have a wrench then?"
The member was unimpressed by Duncan's attempt at humour and said: "Stop being a clown and get it sorted."
