Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Council has once again set up exciting 3D lights and well-lit fairy forest walks to help the area glow over the Christmas season.
Several buildings will also be lit up to celebrate the festive season. Pedal power will keep the Christmas tree lit on Dun Laoghaire pier's bandstand for the first two weekends of December, and it's wheelie good fun for the environment.
The initiative by Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Council will allow visitors to help light up the Christmas tree on the iconic bandstand on the pier by pedaling a bike from 4pm to 8pm on Saturday Dec 10, December 11, December 17 and December 18 during the festive season. There's also two illuminated forest trails at Marlay Park and Cabinteely Park, where walkers will find themselves in a 'winter wonderland' as they explore the enchanting trails.

The well-lit trails are free to the public, and open from 4pm to 8pm Monday to Friday from Monday November 28. The trails are fully accessible for wheelchairs and buggies so that everyone can enjoy the fantastic experience this Christmas.
The council is also using real, living trees and LED lights to make the experience as environmentally friendly as possible. Cathaoirleach of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Council, Cllr Mary Hanafin, said that this year is their attempt to encourage the cyclin culture that is already in the area.

She said: "This festive initiative is very much in line with our vision to cultivate a cycling culture which encourages all members of the community to cycle at all life stages and abilities. Now we can bring Christmas sparkle through pedal power!
Residents can also enjoy watching festive movies outdoors this year at Ferry Terminal, which runs from Saturday December 10 to Sunday, December 18. There's plenty of festive flicks to enjoy like Home Alone, Miracle on 34th Street, Elf and much more.
Tickets are available from Eventbrite at €15 per vehicle.
For those who haven't yet posted off their Christmas List to Santa, there are Santa Post Boxes in place at dlr LexIcon in Dun Laoghaire, Marlay Park in Rathfarnham, Deerpark in Mount Merrion and Cabinteely Park by special commission of Santa Claus.
