Dumped Love Island star Coco Lodge has claimed her dad contacted show bosses over concerns for the way she was being portrayed and the effect it could have on her mental health as a result.
The 27-year-old grid girl said he was alarmed by the level of hate she was receiving on social media while appearing on the series.
Not only did her actions raise eyebrows, cruel trolls sent abusive messages about her appearance.
Lodge was introduced as a bombshell while the girls were sent to Casa Amor and the boys remained in the villa.
During that time, she and Andrew Le Page had a connection, but the 27-year-old estate agent was already coupled up with Tasha Ghouri.
He made the decision to couple up with Lodge while Ghouri returned to the villa with Billy Brown.
Le Page and Ghouri soon found themselves drawn to each other again and decided to give things another go, leaving Lodge single.
Lashing out, she decided to drop a bombshell of her own that Le Page had “sucked her t*t” under the covers during a more intimate moment.
She was eventually dumped from the dating show on Wednesday.
Now she has opened up about her experience on the show in a new interview with Fubarr Radio where she revealed her dad’s worries.
She said: “When I was in the villa, apparently my dad called the producers and was like, ‘you need to show her full personality because what you’re showing is causing so much hate – you’re going to ruin my daughter’s mental health’.”
The Standard has contacted a representative for Love Island for comment.
