Dumfriesshire’s boutique festival was a roaring success in scorching temperatures for the thousands of visitors of all ages who flocked to Raehills Meadows over the weekend.
Eden Festival, with its Day of the Disco theme, had more than 200 acts performing on 10-stages – including one powered by cycling.
Covering all musical bases from world to funk, classical to jungle, acoustic to dancehall and everything in between, the summer shindig had R&B and soul legends Sister Sledge headlining on the Great Mountain stage.
And there was wealth of talent to suit all tastes on the other stages and venues during the weekend, including popular original Fun Lovin’ Criminal and BBC Radio 6 Music DJ Huey Morgan, with his musical bag of musical tricks.
Elvis-fronted Nirvana tribute band, Elvana; General Levy, Afriquoi, Pongo, Henge, Eva Lazarus, Shooglenifty, Valtos and Samson Sounds were also a huge hit with the revellers who had come from all over the UK and were made at home by the Eden staff and volunteers from across the region.
Popular on the Friday night, and with their workshop on the Saturday, were Stargazing Scotland, giving visitors the chance to catch a glimpse of the starry skies above.
As well as music, dancing, health and well-being, food and drink, there were workshops and activities from tarot card readings to wild food foraging and nipple tassels in The Garden with its iconic wicker statue and a workshop tent.
There were free children’s events including learning circus skills, making fairy wings and creating tie-dye art murals – as well as a variety of workshops – and there was a welcome return of festival favourites such as Lost Disco, drive-in movies
and Saturday afternoon’s paint fight.
