A plethora of Lego brick characters – unique to Dumfries – have been hidden within the town’s museums for young visitors to search out.
The very popular series of brick mini-figures has just been expanded to include more people from Dumfries’ history.
They’re spread across several trails on a range of themes to help families discover the tales within the buildings.
And with free access to Dumfries Museum, the Old Bridge House, and the Robert Burns Centre, it is expected to give Easter egg hunts a run for their money for the rest of the school break.
Museums’ access officer, Tom Hughes, said the trail first began five years ago following work with the regional autism network to create five figures, including Lady Devorgilla and Robert Burns, at Dumfries Museum.
But now the characters and the trail’s popularity have grown with all ages and abilities.
Tom said: “By popular demand the trail around the museum has expanded to feature many more mini-figures and different characters can now be found across other council-run museums in the region, including Annan.”
Dumfries Museum has just added figures based on Dr Flora Murray and “Glasgow Girls” artist Chris Fergusson to its brick characters and the figures to find at The Robert Burns Centre include the poet, Jean Armour, characters from Tam O’Shanter, and some historical figures who inspired his songs.
