The wait for the return of Dumfries Show is almost over.
Thousands of people and livestock will flock to the Park Farm showfield today for the first time in three years after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Secretary Susan Bicket said: “We’re really looking forward to seeing everybody this year.
“We’re hoping it all goes smoothly and the weather is good. We’re hoping we’ve got lots of people to see and there’s plenty to do. Our preparation has been a bit different this year. We’d kind of got things in place in 2020 and a lot of things had been carried over to this year.
“Fortunately we’ve been able to do that but there have been changes as well. But we’re looking forward to it.
“We’ve got exhibitors coming from all over the country and we’re looking forward to seeing everybody once again.”
With the weather set to be favourable for those in attendance it’s sure to be a weekend to remember with a variety of things to do for people of all ages.
As well as the dairy, beef, horse, sheep and goat judging there will be plenty for youngsters on the day as well.
Entertainment this year will include The Sheep Show and the main ring entertainment is Riders of The Storm.
Daffy Dill, a vintage machinery display, a rodeo bull, Dumfries Pipe Band, face painting and Nithsdale Alpacas will also be part of the event.
Show chairman Calum McGinley said: “It’s been a long-awaited return and we’re looking forward to it to put everything back into action again.
“The food tent is a big part of Dumfries Show as well so it’s good to get them back in and let the public see how good things are in Dumfries and Galloway.”
