A spate of vandalism in Dumfries is being investigated by the police.
A number of properties across Troqueer were spray painted with a white tag with the word “Sano”.
And the police have received numerous reports of damage to buildings with the markings found on Troqueer Road, Church Street, Kirkpatrick Court and Franklin Place.
The same “Sano” tag has also been found on Brewery Street in Dumfries.
The damage is thought to have occurred between 11am and 12.30pm on Wednesday January 12.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “If you witnessed these acts of vandalism, have CCTV or have had your property damaged then please contact Constable Ryan Cochrane at Dumfries Police Station on 101.”
Police are also investigating incident in which a bike shop window was smashed on Friday night.
DG2 Wheels, on Terregles Street, was targeted at around 11pm.
A window was smashed at the property but the alarm was sounded and nobody gained access to the building.
Police are also looking for anyone with any information to contact them on 101.
North West Dumfries councillor Andy Ferguson said: “I’m sorry to hear about any form of vandalism or crime which impacts on people in the area.
“I would urge anyone who sees anything suspicious to contact the police straight away.
“The police response is excellent but they can only respond to something if they know it’s happening.
“We want Dumfries to look its best so we don’t want any form of vandalism.
“People should be extra vigilant and make sure their belongings are secure and if they have any information they should contact the police.”
