Dumfries’ Moat Brae is planning to cast a spell on visitors with a packed programme for Hallowe’en.
Scotland’s National Centre for Children’s Literature and Storytelling is offering “fa-boo-lous” time for all ages with a spooky programme that starts tomorrow and runs through to the end of the month.
Daily “Witching Hours” will see Moat Brae’s Storyweaver team of young actors bring to life a cast of witches from the world of children’s literature for short drama performances, along with fun spooky tales every day on the hour at 11am, noon, 1pm and 2pm.
There will be a witch hunt to complete in the garden and other activities throughout the house.
All visitors are encouraged to come along in costume to add to the fun with all activities included in the price of entry to the house.
Moat Brae’s Natalie Smith said: “Hallowe’en traditions of guising would have been very familiar to JM Barrie and perhaps even inspired his life-long love of theatre and make-believe.
“The role-playing games he shared with his friends here at Moat Brae went on to inspire Peter Pan and we hope our Hallowe’en programme will prove inspiring to our visitors.”
