Dumfries Loreburn Hall to host No Money Swap Shop

A No Money Swap Shop is taking place at the Loreburn Hall in Dumfries on Sunday.

The event, which starts at 10am, is the brainchild of the Big Burns Supper team which is inviting residents to take along their unwanted items or things they have made, and trade them for things they need.

Organiser Emily Tough said: “Almost everyone has unwanted or no longer needed goods in their home and with a few simple swaps, shoppers will be able to redistribute items responsibly and ethically.

“Whether it’s clothing, plants, tools, artwork, records/CDs or electrical items, everything is welcome.

“A repair shop will also be on hand to give advice on how to fix or rework old or new items to give them a new lease of life.”

The Big Burns Supper team is also on the lookout for volunteers to help at the event.

Emily added: “We are expecting the event will be popular, so we’d love some extra hands to help distribute the tickets and if they have a specialist interest to advise customers on their newly acquired swaps.”

Entry will cost £6 and includes a hot drink.
