Seventies chart-topper Kiki Dee delighted staff and guests at the Cairndale Hotel and Leisure Club when she paid a surprise visit recently.
Best known for her 1976 duet with Elton John, Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, she and her collaborator of 25 years, guitarist Carmelo Luggeri, were shown around by hotel director, Matthew Wallace Junior.
Kiki, who is getting ready to dee-light in Dumfries, wanted a sneak preview of the venue and town as she’s going to be performing at The Cairndale on Saturday, November 18. The first female singer from the UK to sign with Motown’s Tamla Records, she will be singing her hits – with 40 singles and 12 albums released to choose from. And she’ll also perform numbers from their new album, The Long Ride Home.
