Dumfries goes daffodil crazy to support Marie Curie

Dumfries has been going daffodil crazy in aid of Marie Curie.

The end-of-life cancer charity has a well-supported Dumfries fundraising group which annually raises thousands of pounds for the specialist nursing care it provides in people’s homes day and night.

This month sees its annual daffodil appeal with people encouraged to make a donation and wear the charity’s yellow floral badge.

Marie Curie is dependent on public donations and the volunteers have been shaking buckets and drumming up more support with collections at the Tesco store at the Peel Centre and at the Morrisons store, both in Dumfries.

Donations also support the Marie Curie community nursing service and information and support projects, including a telephone line which provides a listening ear to anyone dealing with any aspect of death and bereavement.
