A fundraising family in Dumfries has raised thousands of pounds for a cause close to their hearts.
Emma Dalrymple, Sarah Jardine and Amy Queen have embarked on a series of charity quests after their mum, Kate Jardine, died of cancer last October.
The three sisters have completed a month-long 100 squats a day challenge, Amy’s daughter Olivia smashed a 50km dogwalking test in May and Emma hosted a coffee morning at her home last Saturday.
Emma, 41, said: “We’ve been raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support over the last year in memory of our mum, Kate Jardine, who passed away in October, 2021, five weeks after she was diagnosed.
“I noticed the Macmillan charity squat event was taking place again in November and that’s when I roped in Sarah and Amy to do 100 squats a day challenge. Olivia helped walk her auntie Rebecca Queen’s dogs Tilly and Connie.
“We had the coffee morning last Saturday and it went really well. It was very busy. We’re thinking about making it a yearly thing.
“We raised £1,150 from the coffee morning, Olivia raised £780 dog walking in May and roughly £3,000 from the squat challenge so we’re just shy of £5,000 since November.
