The streets of Dumfries were awash with colour once again for the traditional Guid Nychburris Day parade.
Hundreds of people took part with wonderful floats filled with bears, dancers and even gangsters to entertain the thousands of people who lined the route.
Guid Nychburris chairman John Caskie said: “We were buzzing.
“The whole town was wandering about with a smile on their face on Saturday because it was just such a great feeling for us finally to be back.
“It’s long overdue. It’s been two long years waiting but it’s been three years since we actually had the day itself.
“We saw some folk who have stood at the same place for years during the day and we thought it was just great to be back. I think it was at the back of the minds of a lot of people after the last few years if events like this were ever coming back again.
“We thought they would but on what scale? Would they need to be scaled back at all but we haven’t had to.
“All of the events were well supported as well as we decided to put them on for free this year. We decided to take on those costs for the 90th anniversary and the Jubilee.”
