Dumfries and Galloway's makers and crafters come together at Upland Made

Autumnal downpours didn’t prevent supporters of the region’s makers and crafters from visiting Upland Made at Dumfries’ Easterbrook Hall during the weekend.

The art and craft winter fair featured the creativity of 34 of Dumfries and Galloway’s best artists and artisan makers with the public getting to see and buy everything from pottery and paintings to jewellery and textiles.

It was the region’s art and craft development organisation, Upland CIC, getting festive with its year-round aim of showcasing its members’ work, through the shopping initiative which was popular with residents and visitors who enjoyed the chance to buy original art and crafts directly from the artists and makers
themselves.

Upland CIC said the two days had been a success: “Thanks to everyone who braved the rain to visit the fair and thanks also to all our exhibitors who put on such a great mix of high quality work.”

Supported by Dumfries and Galloway Council, there are now plans to make it an annual event.
