Dumfries and Galloway Council launches webpage to help people hit by flooding

A new webpage has been launched to help people hit by last month’s severe flooding.

The site shows all the help available from the council and other organisations, including grants, help with benefits, bulky uplift availability and advice.

There are also sections listing what the council and its partners did and is doing to help businesses and householders.

Council co-leader, Stephen Thompson, said: “This webpage should be the starting point for anyone affected by the recent severe flooding across Dumfries and Galloway.

“We wanted to get all the information that people would find useful in one place so it’s easy to find.

“We have recently experienced unprecedented flooding across our region, and we acted immediately to get vital help and support to those most in need.

“Our council and our partners continue to do whatever we can to help householders and business-owners respond to these distressing events.”

The webpage can be found at www.dumgal.gov.uk/Flood-Recovery-Support.
