Duke of Northumberland's daughter Lady Melissa Percy expecting a child with new partner

The youngest daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland has announced she is expecting her first child with her billionaire fiancé.

Fashion designer Lady Melissa Percy, also known as Missy, has been dating financier Remy Trafelet, 49, for around three years.

Now the 32-year-old, who has moved to the USA, has revealed that the couple have plans to marry soon and she also confirmed they are expecting their first child together next year.

A statement, released as Lady Melissa launched her clothing line, Mistamina, in America, said the couple shared a mutual love of the outdoors and country pursuits.

It added: "Missy moved to America a couple of years ago to be closer to Remy, they spend their time between the family home in New York, Remy’s plantation in Georgia and Missy’s hometown of Alnwick, Northumberland.

"She has recently launched her clothing line, Mistamina, in America.

"The brand consists of a capsule collection of jumpers designed for action girls who love adventures and want to look good whilst out and about in the countryside."

Lady Melissa, who grew up at Alnwick Castle, divorced Thomas van Straubenzee in 2016.

They tied the knot in a lavish wedding at St Michael’s Church in Alnwick in 2013 but decided to go their separate ways three years later.

In an interview with Tatler in 2017, Lady Melissa said: "After I got divorced, I wanted to do something completely different. I needed to go away and figure out what to do.

"And the older I get, the more I love the countryside. Then the idea just came to me."

The idea was to start a country clothing line for women.

On the Mistamina website, Lady Melissa says of the collection: "I have aimed to create a range of outdoor performance clothes which are also feminine.

"In addition to this they are fresh, practical, contemporary and edgy.

"I've designed pieces which I would wear myself and which combine elegance with an active outdoor lifestyle."
