Duke and Duchess of Cambridge share behind the scenes snaps with young royals from Jubilee weekend

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared some sweet snaps of their “fantastic” weekend, referencing Prince Louis’ cheeky antics.

Prince William and Kate gave a look inside their celebrations over the four-day Platinum Jubilee weekend in a post on their Instagram account which has nearly 14 million followers.

One sweet image showed the Duchess with her children - Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four - on the steps of Buckingham Palace.

“Seeing people across the nation coming together with family, friends and loved ones has been extremely special.

“Thank you to everyone who turned out to show their gratitude to The Queen and her inspiring 70 years of leadership.

“From the crowds on the Mall to communities hosting street parties up and down the country, we hope you had a weekend to remember. We all had an incredible time, especially Louis…”

Prince Louis made headlines this week with his boisterous expressions to Jubilee events.

On Thursday, the young royal was captured next to Her Majesty with his hands over his ears during the Trooping the Colour parade.

He wowed the crowds again at the Platinum Jubilee Pageant where he was seen pulling faces at his mother and, at one point, putting his hand over her mouth in a cheeky display of affection.

Later, Louis was seen sitting on his grandfather’s knee where he calmly watched on.

It comes as Prince Harry and Meghan arrived back in California in the early hours on Monday after skipping the end of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex touched down in a private jet at Santa Barbara - where the couple live with their two children Archie, three, and Lilibet, whose first birthday was reportedly celebrated with a “relaxed” party at Windsor’s Frogmore cottage on Saturday.

Harry was photographed in the passenger seat of a black Range Rover that had arrived to take the family home.

The couple had attended Trooping the Colour on Thursday and a thanksgiving service for the Queen at St Paul’s Cathedral the following day.

But their return to the UK was kept relatively low-key as they missed several big jubilee moments - including the dazzling Platinum Jubilee Party at the Palace, watched by a TV audience of 13.3million - and were sat far away from his brother William and the Duchess of Cambridge at St Paul’s.

They flew back to their US home as four days of pomp, pageantry and partying drew to a close.
