Duke and Duchess of Cambridge face heartbreak as guru who taught William how to fit a car seat reportedly passes away

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have received some very sad news following the death of an antenatal guru who prepared the royal couple for the birth of their first child. Christine Hill ran antenatal classes for the stars from the security of her West London home, and has reportedly died aged 74.

Christine's initimate sessions were attended twice by the Duchess of Cambridge, with Prince William accompanying his wife on one occasion in the run up to their eldest son, Prince George's birth, reports The Mirror. Before George came along, one of the most crucial tasks William got the hang of was fitting a baby's car seat into the back of a car, which can be a very difficult operation.

The death of Mrs Hill was announced in the Daily Mail's Eden Confidential column, with a representative of her family telling the publication: "She will be achingly missed. Her feisty, amusing, straightforward demeanour won her many friends."

Not long before Prince George's birth in July 2013, Mrs Hill told The Telegraph that the Cambridges had visited her during Kate's pregnancy. Mrs Hill said Kate was a 'delightful girl', and said that 'what you see is what you get' when it comes to the Duchess.

Ahead of Kate being taken to the Lindo Wing, Mrs Hill said she was sure William 'would be doing the right stuff on the day', and referred to the couple as a 'very strong team'. Fast forward nearly nine years and William and Kate now have three children: George, Charlotte, and Louis.

All three of Kate's children, now aged eight, seven, and four, were born at the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London. Unfortunately, during all three of her pregnancies, the Duchess of Cambridge suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, which causes severe morning sickness.

Kate has since said that her severe bouts of vomiting meant that she was 'not the happiest of pregnant people'. In 2020, she revealed how she coped with her sickness to 'Happy Mum, Happy Baby' podcast host, Giovanna Fletcher. The 40-year-old said that, whilst trying to get over the period of illness, she realised the importance of 'mind over body', and used hypnobirthing techniques.

She said: "I'm not going to say that William was standing there sort of, chanting sweet nothings at me. He definitely wasn't.

"I didn't even ask him about it, but it was just something I wanted to do for myself. I saw the power of it, really, the meditation and the deep breathing and things like that that they teach you in hypnobirthing when I was really sick.

"And, actually, I realised that this was something that I could take control of, I suppose, during labour. It was hugely powerful."
