Dublin woman shares outrage after paying over €8 for pint of Guinness in Temple Bar

A Dublin woman was left speechless after paying over €8 for a pint of Guinness in Temple Bar.

She shared the hefty bill on social media and quickly sparked a debate about the price of alcohol around the popular tourist destination.

The receipt showed that three pints of the black stuff cost a whopping €24.30 with others sharing their own expensive experiences.

Most people could not explain why the pints were so expensive in comparison to other parts of the city.

One person said: "I presume a pint of Guinness is the same as a pint of Guinness in Temple Bar, Dublin ! Apart from the price difference that is.... Of course overheads are more expensive in Dublin than in rural areas. Does it justify the price difference? I don't think so."

Another wrote: "Jesus wept. Talk about daylight robbery. There's more to Dublin's Fair City than rip off Temple Bar."

A third commented: "Why are people even drinking in Temple Bar?? It's a rip off spot for tourists at this stage.

"Cross the Liffey. €8 is too much to be paying for Guinness."

Other people stressed that Temple Bar has always been known as a tourist spot and could not understand the shock.

One said: "Go for a drink in Paris, Copenhagen, London etc in a busy touristy bar and you'll find similar prices."
