Dublin weather today: Met Eireann warns of thunderstorms and flooding in chaotic forecast

It seems like we're in for some rough weather ahead as Met Eireann warned of thunderstorms and potential flooding.

A chaotic week is in store for Ireland as heavy showers may turn thundery in parts of the country. However, it will be warm with temperatures ranging from high-teens to mid-20s.

Today will start off dry with some sunny spells. Showers will develop during the afternoon and evening with some turning heavy with thunderstorms and localised flooding possible. The highest temperatures will be around 18 to 22 degrees.

Tonight will be clear as showers will die off overnight. It will be a mild night with temperatures ranging between 11 to 14 degrees.

Tomorrow will be a cloudy and showery day with showers turning heavier into the afternoon and evening and some thunderstorms are likely. Temperatures will stay between 18 to 21 degrees.

There is no further forecast for Dublin but here's what the national outlook says:

Tuesday night

"Showers will become more isolated with drier and clearer conditions developing. Some mist and fog developing too. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees in just light southwest breezes.

Wednesday

"Sunny spells and scattered showers with the best of any sunshine breaking out later in the day. Highest temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees with just light westerly breezes.

Wednesday night

"Mostly dry and clear overnight with just light patchy rain and cloud lingering in parts. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees with light variable breezes."
