Dublin weather: Storm Oscar impact to bring huge change as 'showery but humid airmass' to engulf Ireland

Good morning, folks! Ireland will see a rather chaotic forecast for the next few days as the remnants of Storm Oscar hurtle toward the country.

Currently, the storm has resulted in several weather warnings being issued in Spain as heavy rain and strong winds are battering the popular holiday hotspot. Temperatures in Ireland are set to jump to a sizzling 26 degrees this weekend as the storm will have an impact on our weather.

Independent weather forecaster Weather Alerts Ireland said: "This week is expected to be warm with lots of sun with temperatures up to 24 or 25 degrees. Storm Oscar is currently bringing lots of rain to the canaries and this is expected to impact our weather for the weekend.

"This system will increase humidity and bring warmer air over Ireland and this will increase the risk of thunderstorms forming over Ireland over the weekend!" Met Eireann said that a more "showery but quite humid airmass" will move up across the country on Saturday.

Today will be dry with a mix of sunny spells and some patchy cloud in Dublin. The highest temperatures will be around 15 to 17 degrees.

Tonight will be dry again with a mix of clear spells and some high cloud with temperatures hitting the lows of 10 to 12 degrees. Tomorrow will be dry too but the sunshine will be hazier overall and it will be quite a blustery day. The highest temperatures will be around 15 to 17 degrees.

There is no further forecast for Dublin but here's what Met Eireann's national outlook says:

Thursday night

"Other than some high cloud it will be dry and mostly clear. Cloud will thicken in the south and southwest later in the night, with a slight chance of some patchy rain near southwestern fringes by morning.

"Lowest temperatures of 9 in Ulster up to a mild 15 degrees in parts of Munster, all in light to moderate easterly breezes.

Friday

"There will generally be more cloud about on Friday although there will still be some long sunny spells. While it will be mostly dry again, a shower or two may develop in the south during the afternoon.

"Highest temperatures of 19 to 25 degrees, warmest in the midwest, in light to moderate east to southeast winds.

Friday night

"Mostly dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells. A few isolated showery outbreaks are possible in the south, mainly towards morning. It will be a warm night especially in the southwest with lowest temperatures not falling below 11 to 16 degrees in mostly light easterly winds.

Saturday

"Warm and muggy with the best of the sunny spells in the morning, although in Munster, showery outbreaks of rain will likely be ongoing in the morning and they will extend northwards through the afternoon and evening, with a few heavier burst possible in the west.

"Highest temperatures of 18 to 25 degrees, warmest in Connacht in mostly moderate southeasterly winds."
