Met Eireann has warned of widespread rainfall in Dublin this afternoon.
The weather forecast suggests that wet and windy conditions will grip the capital later on today. Strong and gusty southwesterly winds are also predicted, with daytime temperatures ranging from 12 to 13 degrees.
The rain will continue on into the evening but is expected to clear eastwards overnight. Scattered showers and clear spells will follow.

Strong winds will also ease overnight and veer towards the southwest. Night-time temperatures will drop to lows of between 3 and 7 degrees.

Wednesday
Tomorrow, Wednesday, will start out dry in many parts with sunny spells. It will become breezier and cloudier as the day goes on with scattered blustery showers spreading from the west during the afternoon. Some of the showers could be heavy, with a chance of hail and isolated thunderstorms. Highs of 11 or 12 degrees in a moderate to fresh and gusty southwesterly wind, strong near the coast.
Thursday

Some of the showers could be heavy, with a chance of hail and isolated thunderstorms. Highs of 11 or 12 degrees in a moderate to fresh and gusty southwesterly wind, strong near the coast.
Friday
Showers mainly in the west and north at first, becoming widespread by the afternoon, some of them heavy. Light to moderate southwesterly winds will freshen in southern counties with another period of strong winds possible for southern and southwestern counties from late afternoon. Top temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees, again coolest near the west coast.
