Dublin weather: Met Eireann predicts 'sharp frost' and icy conditions as temperatures plunge

Met Eireann has warned that a freezing Arctic blast will see 'sharp frost' and icy conditions for much of the country including Dublin, with a Status Yellow ice warning in place.

The Status Yellow ice warning is in place for the entire country until noon today. Temperatures could drop as low as -6C at times, with wintry showers of hail, sleet and snow also forecast with a weather advisory also in place until Thursday.

According to Met Eireann, this morning will be cold across Dublin with a "sharp frost and icy stretches." These will clear slowly and may linger in places, with highest temperatures of just 2 to 4 degrees with light northwest breezes.
