Dublin weather: Met Eireann predicts scorcher of a day as 'strange' forecast will see temps hit mid-20s

Met Eireann has forecast that another scorching day is on the way for Dublin and that it will stay "warm and humid" this weekend with temperatures to reach a scorching 25 degrees.

Today the weather will dry, warm and humid with sunshine at times. It will become breezier with a moderate to fresh southerly wind developing and temperatures will reach 24 or 25 degrees, while the pollen count will remain high today and on Sunday.

Tonight will be dry with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 14 or 15 degrees in a moderate to fresh southerly breeze.

Meanwhile Carlow Weather's Alan O'Reilly has said that it will be a "very warm morning." He tweeted today: "A very warm morning with many areas not dropping below 18c overnight. A cloudy start but some bright spells will develop at times.

"Warm, very breezy and humid day with many areas staying dry but also some showers or patchy drizzle, mainly in the West." The weather expert also said last night that the weather will take a "strange" turn today as it will be "warm, very breezy with a lot of cloud but little rain."

Met Eireann is also keeping an eye as "one of the most severe marine heatwaves on Earth" has been forecast but only our seas are affected and air temperature over land is not being impacted. Here's Met Eireann's forecast for the coming days:

Sunday

It will become cloudy and wet tomorrow morning as rain moves in from the west and turns heavy at times. The rain will clear eastwards by the afternoon and will be followed by sunny spells and scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 18 or 19 degrees in a moderate to fresh southerly wind, becoming westerly and easing light to moderate after the rain.

Sunday night

Clear spells and well scattered showers. Less warm and humid than previous nights, with lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees, in a light southwesterly wind.

Monday

Sunny spells and isolated showers early on Monday morning, but cloud will increase and outbreaks of rain and drizzle will develop across most areas through the day. It will likely be driest in the southeast. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees in a light to moderate south to southwest wind.

Monday night

Cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Mild again with lowest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees, in a light to moderate south to southwest wind.

Tuesday

Tuesday will start largely cloudy with patches of rain and drizzle. It will brighten up in the east and south later, but showers or longer spells of rain will develop in the north and west, turning heavy at times. Highest temperatures of 20 to 24 degrees in a moderate to fresh southwesterly breeze.
