Dublin weather: Met Eireann pinpoints exact days the capital will bask in 22 degree scorcher

Summer is just around the corner as temperatures are set to soar to the low 20s this week.

Ireland will enjoy glorious sunshine and dry conditions due to the high pressure that is currently dominating the country. Additionally, Met Eireann has revealed the exact days the mercury is set to hit the highs of 22 degrees this week.

The weekend is set to be a scorcher with two consecutive days of 22-degree weather with plenty of sunshine and a slight chance of showers in Connacht and Ulster. Met Eireann has also warned people to wear sunscreen and seek shade during midday hours due to a high level of UV rays today.

Today will be dry with good spells of hazy sunshine in Dublin and temperatures of 16 to 18 degrees. Tonight will be dry too with some great clear spells. The temperatures will hit the lows of 5 to 9 degrees.

Tomorrow will be another generally dry and sunny day with temperatures of 17 to 19 degrees. There is no further forecast for Dublin but here's what the national outlook says:

Wednesday night

"Generally dry with clear spells. Just a slight chance of some light rain or drizzle lingering in the northwest early on. Lowest temperatures generally ranging from 6 to 10 degrees, coolest in Ulster, in light north to northwest breezes.

Thursday

"Dry with good spells of sunshine. Just a slight chance of showers pushing into western areas at times. Highest temperatures will generally range from 16 to 21 degrees, warmest in Munster, in light northerly breezes.

Thursday night

"Dry and generally clear. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees in light north to northeast breezes.

Friday

"Dry and sunny. Maximum temperatures of 16 to 21 degrees in very light and variable breezes.

Friday night

"Dry and generally clear with a chance of some mist and fog patches developing towards morning. Minimum temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees in very light and variable breezes.

Saturday

"Staying generally dry and sunny. Just a slight chance of showers pushing in to Connacht and Ulster at times. Highest temperatures of around 18 to 22 degrees in light northwesterly or variable breezes.

Sunday

"Staying mostly dry with good spells of sunshine. Just a slight chance of showers occasionally pushing in to Atlantic coastal regions. Highest temperatures of around 17 to 22 degrees in light north to northwest breezes."
