Dublin weather: Met Eireann forecasts intense heat blast before thundery showers hit

Good morning, folks! Looks like dry conditions are set to end as Met Eireann has forecasted thundery showers.

It's always good to be prepared so it's time to take those brollies and rain jackets out so you don't get caught out. Temperatures will drop slightly but it'll still be warm.

Today will be scorching as the temperatures will range from 23 to 25 degrees. It will be a dry day with sunny spells, some turning hazy at times.

Tonight will be dry with clear spells. It will be a mild night with temperatures not falling below 13 to 15 degrees.

Tomorrow will start off dry with hazy sunny spells but it will get cloudier with some showers possible. The highest temperatures will be around 23 or 24 degrees.

There is no further forecast for Dublin but here's what Met Eireann's national outlook says:

Friday night

"Mostly cloudy with scattered showers continuing, heavy at times. Some mist and fog patches developing too in light to moderate south to southeast winds. Mild with temperatures not falling below 13 to 16 degrees.

Saturday

"Scattered showers will continue during Saturday and after a largely cloudy start, sunny spells will develop in between the showers during the afternoon and evening. Some of the showers will be heavy and isolated thunderstorms and spot flooding will be possible. Highest temperatures of 19 to 22 degrees with a light to moderate south to southeast wind.

Saturday night

"Showers will die out from most areas during Saturday night, leaving clear spells. Patches of mist and fog will form in light to moderate south to southeast winds. Mild again with lowest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees.

Sunday

"Sunday will be another showery day with sunny spells. Some of the showers will be heavy and isolated thunderstorms and spot flooding will be possible. Highest temperatures of 19 to 22 degrees with a light to moderate southeasterly wind."
