Dublin weather: Met Eireann forecast cloudy weekend but sunshine to return next week

Met Eireann have forecast a cloudy and dull weekend but gave an update on when the sunshine will return.

Today will be mostly cloudy and mainly dry in Dublin, with the potential for some patchy drizzle at times. There will be a few brighter intervals also with highest temperatures of 15 or 16 degrees.

Tomorrow will also be mainly dry and mostly cloudy in the capital. A few showers light showers are possible in the afternoon and evening with highest temperatures of 16 to 18 degrees.

While there is no further forecast for Dublin, here is Met Eireann's national outlook.

Monday

On Monday morning, any lingering rain or drizzle in the southeast will clear and the rest of the day will be mainly dry with sunny spells developing. There may be a few isolated showers.

"Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees, warmest in the south with light to moderate north to northwest breezes. Monday night will be dry with clear spells and lowest temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees.

Tuesday

Tuesday will be mainly dry with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees with light west to northwest breezes. Tuesday night will be dry with lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees.

Wednesday

Wednesday will be a cloudier day with light rain and drizzle developing in the northwest and moving southeastwards and dying out as it does so. Parts of the east and southeast will stay completely dry.

"Highest temperatures of 13 or 14 degrees in the northwest to 19 or 20 degrees in the southeast with light to moderate westerly breezes.

Thursday and Friday

"Thursday and Friday will continue mainly dry with sunny spells. Temperatures will be in the mid to high teens with mostly light breezes."
