A top forecaster has explained why people are finding dust on their cars today.
People were noticing that their windscreens were inexplicably dusty during the recent heatwave. Thankfully, the dust is nothing to worry about and is related to the spell of good weather.
Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather has explained that the dust has blown across in a plume of hot air from the Sahara. It won't be an issue for long with temperatures set to drop considerably.

He said: "Did you notice dust on your car or windows today? Well the plume of hot air not only brought us high temperatures but also Sahara dust. Anywhere that had showers would have seen a lot of dust brought down. The dust moves away with the hot air tonight though."
Met Eireann issued a Status Yellow thunderstorm warning for 10 counties in a sudden end to the heatwave.
The warning was in place in Carlow, Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Tipperary, and Waterford from 9:30am today until 9pm.
There were also active thunderstorms across the capital today with lightning striking the iconic Poolbeg chimneys.
