Dublin weather: Expert confirms hottest day of the year with 26C scorcher coming soon

Ireland will roast in sweltering temperatures with the mercury set to soar over the next few days.

The "Azores High" is set to bring a blast of heat with plenty of sunshine and hotter temperatures. Weather Alerts Ireland said on Facebook: "Temperatures will steadily increase over the week and by the end of the weekend temperatures in the mid-twenties are possible.

"From Monday it is looking uncertain but the latest ECMWF model is forecasting some very hot temperatures."

And according to the weather experts, the following temperatures have been forecasted for the next seven days:

  • Tuesday : 21 Degrees
  • Wednesday : 22 Degrees
  • Thursday : 22 Degrees
  • Friday : 23 Degrees
  • Saturday : 23 Degrees
  • Sunday : 24 Degrees
  • Monday : 26 Degrees

The weather phenomenon will start building from the south and move across the country from Wednesday bringing subtropical conditions. Today will be dry and cloudy but the afternoon will bring sunny spells. The highest temperatures will be from 18 to 20 degrees.

Tonight will be cloudy but will stay mostly dry. It will be a mild night with the lowest temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees.

Tomorrow will see plenty of sunny spells and the highest temperatures will be from 18 to 22 degrees.
