Dublin is set for a further cold snap next week - although questions remain about whether we're looking at another Beast from the East.
Current weather chart maps are showing that temperatures are set to drop over Ireland and with it will come more unsettled weather. But now it looks like things are going to be at their worst in two weeks rather than next week.
Things are expected to be mainly dry over the next few days and heading into the weekend. But once we pass the weekend is when the weather is going to take a bit of a turn.

Met Eireann says: "High pressure will be dominant to the north of Ireland with a mainly easterly airflow across the country. Temperatures will be average for the time of year. There will be below normal rainfall in all areas, with the driest weather over the western half of the country. No warnings or hazardous weather are expected."
But come March 10, when week two starts in the monthly forecast, things begin to become more unsettled. Met Eireann also warns that warnings could be possible.
It continued: "Low pressure will dominate the weather with the airflow likely to be westerly or southwesterly. Conditions will be unstable near Ireland. Weather warnings or impactful weather are possible in this set up. Rainfall amounts will be above normal in all areas, with highest amounts in the west and southwest. Temperatures will trend above average by up to a degree."
While Carlow Weather's Alan O'Reilly shared some weather charts of what is coming down the line thanks to the ongoing Sudden Stratospheric Warming event. While trends are moving toward colder weather a lot still remains uncertain.
He said: "Weather models now increasing the risk of a cold snap next week. Details a little uncertain but likely to see much cooler air early next week. A cool start to Spring very possible. Staying largely dry in the interim with just the odd shower but a lot of cloud persisting. The chances of seeing Northern lights have faded for now but we could get another chance in the coming weeks.
"Are we starting to see the impact of SSW on the weather models now for next week? I did say from around the first week of March we could see an impact. Interesting run of weather models underway with risk of much cooler air next week. The latest charts rolling out show more support for a cold snap next week. Still subject to change and details uncertain but cold looking likely. Keep an eye out for updates and don’t start worrying about snow, too far out yet to even think about any chances of snow."
