An Arctic blast is set to bring freezing temperatures as forecasters have warned of snow next week.
Met Eireann has warned of sleet and snow at the start of next week as temperatures will drop "well below freezing". Meanwhile, an independent forecaster predicted snow showers and possible heavier falls could engulf the country.
Weather Alerts Ireland said on Facebook: "From the weekend it will get colder with cold northerly Artic air expected to push over Ireland making temperatures drop. Overnight temperatures are set to be well below freezing with day temperatures struggling in the single digits if that. This combined with the windchill will make it feel baltic.
