Dublin vs Meath won't be on television as Croke Park double-header is confirmed for Leinster semis

The GAA has confirmed that the Leinster semi-finals will be played in Croke Park as a double-header on Sunday May 15.

It's also been confirmed that neither Dublin vs Meath nor Kildare against Westmeath will be on television.

While slightly surprising that a Championship meeting between Dublin and their old rivals won't be shown live on TV, fans from other counties won't have too much sympathy given how much airtime The Dubs do get.

This past weekend was a prime example as Sky Sports opted to show their typically one-sided cruise against Wexford rather than picking an evenly-matched fixture such as Limerick vs Clare which became the first match in Championship history to ever be decided by penalties.

The Royals didn't exactly make light work of Wicklow at Páirc Tailteann yesterday so another fairly comfortable Dublin victory is likely on the cards too.

The draw for the semi-finals took place on last night's edition of The Sunday Game.

Reflecting on it afterwards, Mayo great Colm Boyle said it set Kildare up nicely for a probable tilt at Dublin in the provincial decider.

He said: "I think Kildare in particular will be happy especially after that win today versus Louth.

"I watched them in their last league game against Mayo and I thought they were really, really good going forward but far too open at the back.

"They'll need to get that balance right going forward heading later into the Championship.

"It wasn't really tested today and I think they'll get over Westmeath but then the big test will come as you're looking probably at Dublin in the final."
