Dancing With The Stars favourite Erica Cody is dedicating her performance this weekend to her childhood hero – Samantha Mumba.
The Dedicated Dance episode tomorrow will see each contestant pay tribute to someone special in their lives.
Dublin singer Erica, 26, will be using the opportunity to honour the woman she said inspired her to follow her music dream, in what she said will be a “full circle moment”.
She will dance a tango to Samantha’s hit Body II Body with pro dancer partner Denys Samson.
Erica added: “When I was growing up there wasn’t much representation when it came to women of colour or black women in general that I could see on TV that were doing things that I wanted to do.
"And when I was at such a young and impressionable age,
she means a great deal to me so it was kind of inevitable that I would dedicate it to her.
“Because it is such a full circle moment for me.”
Dancing With The Stars airs tomorrow on RTE One at 6.30pm.
