Dublin resident scoops €1.5m in high-stakes poker tournament in Las Vegas

A Dublin resident scooped a massive €1.5m in Las Vegas after entering a high-stakes poker tournament.

Alex Kulev resides in Dublin and from Bulgaria managed to bag the massive prize at a World Series of Poker event in Las Vegas.

The Bulgarian competed in the high stakes poker event where the total prize pool was over €15.5m.

And Kulev managed to nab a fourth-place finish at the No Limit Hold'em Super High Roller event collecting a cool $1.63m (€1.5m) for his efforts.

Kulev is the second-highest earner in Bulgarian history having banked some €7.2m and is 386th in the all-time money list.

Big time poker will hit Ireland at the end of this month with the Summer in Dublin Festival taking place at the Green Isle Hotel in Newlands cross with the prize purse guaranteed at €100,000.
