A Dublin punter managed to win a hefty sum during Friday night’s EuroMillions without even buying a ticket.
The anonymous winner of €16,500 struck gold when they placed a minor €0.50 bet with BoyleSports. They picked out four numbers that they thought would be drawn in the EuroMillions Plus draw last night - and lo and behold, they all appeared.
They chose to bank on numbers 7, 12, 14, and 33 and faced mammoth odds of 33,000/1 against all four rolling out of the machine. Those odds began to tumble quickly as the draw got under away and in the blink of an eye all four had been called, triggering the handy payout.

This allowed the lucky winner to return to the shop and swap their betslip for a whopping total of €16,500.50. Lawrence Lyons, Spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “We send huge congratulations to our customer in Dublin for being ambitious enough to take on the odds.
“A bit of small change has gone a very long way and we hope they enjoy the celebrations.”
