Dublin pier jumper airlifted to hospital after 'serious' incident in water

A pier jumper in north Dublin was airlifted to hospital after sustaining serious injuries in the water.

The incident happened at Rush Harbour at around 5:25pm on Monday evening.

Skerries Coast Guard, Skerries RNLI, Dublin Fire Brigade and gardai rushed to the scene, and the man was airlifted to Beaumont Hospital.

Dublin Fire Brigade said that firefighters were also waiting on the Irish Coast Guard helicopter at the Beaumont Hospital landing zone.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "On Monday 6 June shortly before 5.30pm, Gardai attended an incident in Rush, Co. Dublin where a male was injured having entered the water.

"The man was airlifted to Beaumont Hospital. There are no further inquiries at this time."

Dublin Live have contacted Skerries Coast Guard for comment.
